The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Pamela Rosado (165-1986) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. American forward Asia Strong (188-2000, college: Syracuse) chipped in 26 points and 5 rebounds. American swingman Naomi Davenport (180, college: WVU) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds for the guests. Montaneras have a solid three-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Isabela at the other side keeps the fifth place with four games lost. Isabela will play next round against San German trying to get back on the winning streak. Morovis will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Santurce at home.
Bottom-ranked Moca managed to get a second victory. This time newly promoted Moca won against sixth-ranked Lares 77-62. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 15-point difference suggests that Moca is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. Lares will play against Manati and hope to get back on the winning track.

The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gigantes have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains fourth position with 4-2 record. Loser Pollitas keeps the fifth place with four games lost. Carolina will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Isabela will play against San German (#8) and hope to secure a win.
In the last two games of round 8 Hatillo lost to undefeated Santurce in a road game 53-68. San German was beaten by Morovis at home 69-85.
