Leslie number one in Puerto Rico BSNF for week 16 (by Hoops Agents)

American Guard Kiara Leslie (183-G-1995) had an amazing evening in the last week for second-ranked Gigantes de Carolina, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for week 16.
The 29-year old player was the main contributor (30 points, nine rebounds and six assists) to her team's victory, helping them to beat Morovis (#4, 9-7) 97-82. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Gigantes is placed at 2nd position in Puerto Rican BSNF. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Carolina will need more victories to improve their 10-6 record. In the team's last game Leslie had a remarkable 58.3% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 7 attempts. She turned to be Gigantes's top player in her first season with the team. Former North Carolina State University star has very solid stats this year. Leslie is in league's top in points (3rd best: 20.6ppg) and rebounds (8th best: 9.5rpg).

The second best player in last week's games was young American Juicy Landrum (173-G-1997) of Patriotas de Lares. Landrum had a very good evening with 28 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Bad luck as Lares lost that game 71-77 to slightly higher-ranked San German (#8, 6-10). This loss caused Lares to slide to the very bottom (9) position in the standings. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-11 record. Landrum is a newcomer at Lares, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last week was international guard Pamela Rosado (165-PG-1986) of Montaneras de Morovis (#4). Rosado showcased her all-around game by recording 24 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists in the last week. She was a key player of Montaneras, leading her team to a 87-82 win against #1 ranked Santurce in a game of the week. Morovis needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 9 victories and 7 lost games. Rosado has a great season in Puerto Rico. After 16 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 7.6apg (2nd best). She also has 2.3spg and a FGP of 51.0%.
