The game was dominated by American players. Gigantes dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Hatillo's 18. They outrebounded Hatillo 42-29 including 29 on the defensive glass. Gigantes players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American guard Kiara Leslie (183-1995, college: NC State) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 7 rebounds. The other American import forward Teana Muldrow (188-1995, college: WVU) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. The former international center Sofia Roma (188-1996, college: Duke) replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and Danish swingman Okako Adika (183-1996, college: USC) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Hatillo. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hatillo's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win.
