It was a great evening for international guard Brianna Jones (177-1997, college: Georgetown) who led her team to a victory scoring 17 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. American guard Kamaria McDaniel (178-1999, college: Michigan St.) helped adding 19 points and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was American forward Alisia Jenkins (186-1994, college: S.Florida) with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Caguas will play next round against Hatillo trying to get back on the winning streak. Cangrejeras will try to continue on its current victory against Yauco on the road.

It was an exceptional evening for American forward Tess Amundsen (185-1999, college: CSUN) who led the winners and scored 32 points and 7 rebounds. Gabby Gregory accounted for 14 points and 8 rebounds. American forward Dariauna Lewis (185-2000, college: Syracuse) came up with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 17 rebounds for Hatillo in the defeat. Hatillo's coach Jorge Otero rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Monarcas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Hatillo will play against Caguas (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very important is a road loss of Leonas (1-1) against Gigantes (2-1) on Friday night. Visiting Leonas were defeated by Gigantes in Carolina 65-55. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was Teana Muldrow who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Talia von Oelhoffen who recorded 20 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. Leonas' coach M Toro tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Gigantes will meet at home Isabela (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Leonas will play against Moca and hope to win that game.
