Amundsen number one in Puerto Rico BSNF for week 3 (by Hoops Agents)

American Forward Tess Amundsen (185-F-1999) put on an extraordinary performance in the last week for Monarcas Juana Diaz, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for week 3.
The 26-year old player was the main contributor (32 points, seven rebounds and two assists) to her team's victory, helping them to edge out Hatillo (1-1) 59-55. Monarcas is placed at 7th position in Puerto Rican BSNF. Monarcas is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-1 record. In the team's last game Amundsen had a remarkable five three-pointers out of 11 attempts. She turned to be Monarcas' top player in her first season with the team. Former California State University Northridge star has very solid stats this year. Amundsen is league's best scorer averaging so far 25.0ppg. Amundsen is in league's top in rebounds (6th best: 9.5rpg) and averages impressive 2.5spg. Worth to mention Amundsen played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped her get the job in pro basketball.

The second best player in last week's games was young American Dariauna Lewis (185-F-2000) of Ganaderas de Hatillo. Lewis had a very good evening with a double-double of 27 points and 17 rebounds. Bad luck as Hatillo was edged by Monarcas (1-1) 59-55. The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next week. Lewis is a newcomer at Hatillo, but is already one of team's top players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.5ppg (#6). Her other stats are also decent: 15.5rpg and 4.0apg.

Third on the list of top players last week was American forward Alisia Jenkins (186-F-1994) of Criollas de Caguas (#6). Jenkins showcased her all-around game by recording 18 points, 14 rebounds (!!!) and 5 assists in the last week. Despite Jenkins' great performance the Caguas lost 72-75 to Santurce (#3, 2-1). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. Jenkins has a great season in Puerto Rico. After only 2 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.0rpg (4th best) and assists with 5.0apg (9th best).

6. Selena Lott (180-G-1999) of Carolina - 20 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Lasha Petree (183-G) of Isabela - 22 points and 9 rebounds
8. Oshlynn Brown (185-F) of Santurce - 16 points and 9 rebounds
9. Sierra Moore (180-G-1994) of Yauco - 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists
10. Quionche Carter (183-G/F) of Isabela - 14 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists
