Phillip Wheeler is a newcomer at the Magic

Phillip Wheeler

The Orlando Magic added 23-year-old Puerto Rican-American international 6-9 forward Phillip Wheeler to their roster for the 2025-26 season. Wheeler most recently played for the Indiana Pacers. During 5 NBA Summer League games, he recorded 13.2ppg, 3.2rpg, and 1.2bpg last season.
He has never been drafted by the NBA.
Wheeler has been a member of the Puerto Rican international program for some years. He has regularly played for the Puerto Rican senior team since 2022 and previously for the Under 19 National Team in 2021.
Wheeler also represented Puerto Rico at the FIBA World Cup 2023 Americas Qualifiers two years ago. Wheeler's team won Bronze and he had 3 ppg.
He is a very experienced player. Thanks to his pro career, he managed to play on three different continents (Europe, Latin America, and North America) in seven different countries. Wheeler has played previously in Argentina (Gimnasia), Italy (RO SAzzurra and RO SAzzurra), Mexico, Puerto Rico (Atleticos and Piratas), other NBA teams (Philadelphia 76ers), NBA G League (Texas Legends, Rio Grande Valley Vipers, Iowa Wolves, Maine Celtics, and Capitanes de Ciudad de Mexico), and NBA Summer League (Minnesota Timberwolves). His team made it to the NBA G League Semifinals in 2025.
Among many awards, he was voted to Latinbasket.com All-Puerto Rican BSN Honorable Mention in 2024.
