Quionche Carter gets MVP of the Week award for Puerto Rican BSNF

American Quionche Carter (183-G/F) put on an extraordinary performance in the last week for league's second-best Pollitas de Isabela and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for week 8.
The swingman had a double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds, while her team beat Caguas (#9, 2-4) 85-79. Pollitas was forced-out from the top positions in Puerto Rican BSNF. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Isabela will need more victories to improve their 5-3 record. In the team's last game Carter had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range. She turned to be Pollitas's top player in her first season with the team. Florida Gulf Coast University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Carter is in league's top in points (4th best: 20.4ppg), assists (8th best: 4.6apg) and averages solid 52.9% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last week's games was young American center Shelby Cheslek (196-C-1992, agency: LBM Management) of Leonas de Ponce. Cheslek impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 22 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Leonas lost that game 62-75 to the higher-ranked Hatillo (#3, 4-3). Leonas are still at the very bottom. 5 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Leonas managed to get this year. Cheslek is a newcomer at Leonas and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last week was international forward India Pagan (185-F-1999) of Atenienses de Manati (#8). Pagan scored 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Atenienses, leading her team to a 66-58 win against the higher-ranked Santurce (#4, 4-3). The chances of Manati ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 3 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Pagan could help Manati to bring them higher in the standings. Pagan has a great season in Puerto Rico. After only 5 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.0rpg (8th best).

10. Samantha Fuehring (191-C-1997) of Moca - 18 points, 14 rebounds and 2 assists
