McGee-Stafford's double-double lands her Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

31-year old American center Imani McGee-Stafford (201-C-1994) had a great game in the last week for Monarcas Juana Diaz and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for week 9.
She had a double-double of 25 points and 22 rebounds, while her team beat Yauco (#9, 3-5) 69-55. Thanks to this victory Monarcas moved-up to the 6th position in Puerto Rican BSNF. Monarcas is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 4-4 record. McGee-Stafford turned to be Monarcas' top player in her first season with the team. Imani McGee-Stafford averages this season 26.8ppg, 16.6rpg and 5.0apg.

Second best performed player last week was Kai James (196-C-1995) of Criollas de Caguas. She is American center in her first season at Caguas. In the last game James recorded an impressive double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds. Of course Caguas cruised to a 80-68 relatively comfortable win over slightly higher-ranked Manati (#7, 3-4). Despite this victory Caguas slide down in the standings to 8th position. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-5 record. James is a newcomer at Caguas and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Lasha Petree (183-G) of Pollitas de Isabela (#3). Petree scored 29 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Despite Petree's great performance the Pollitas lost 73-77 to #1 ranked Moca. But her team cannot count on just a single shooter as she also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Isabela needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 5 victories and 4 lost games. Petree has a great season in Puerto Rico. After only 7 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.1ppg (3rd best). She also has a FGP of 54.3% and 3PT: 48.0%.
