The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Cangrejeras as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Cangrejeras defeated 7th ranked Atenienses in Santurce 66-61. American forward Shae Kelley (185-1991, college: Minnesota) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and the former international point guard Dayshalee Salaman (163-1990, college: LMU) chipped in 9 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. At the losing side the former international point guard Pamela Rosado (165-1986) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Cangrejeras (9-3) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Manati at the other side keeps the seventh place with six games lost. They share the position with Hatillo. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
The game in Juana Diaz was also worth to mention about. 5th ranked Caguas (5-6) played at the court of eighth ranked Monarcas (5-6). Monarcas managed to secure a 6-point victory 91-85. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Caguas. Americans were the main players on the court. Center Imani McGee-Stafford (201-1994, college: Texas) nailed a double-double by scoring 29 points, 19 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 blocks for the winning side and Tess Amundsen accounted for 29 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Kai James (196-1995, college: FSU) came up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds for Caguas in the defeat. Monarcas moved-up to fifth place, which they share with defeated Caguas. Monarcas will play against league's second-placed Moca on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Caguas will play against Yauco and hope to get back on the winning track.

Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. Manati will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
