BSNF Round 14 (Regular Season): Carolina is upset by Manati

Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The most important game in the last round took place in Carolina between third ranked Gigantes (7-6) and eighth ranked Atenienses (5-6) on Thursday night. Gigantes were defeated by Atenienses in a tough game at home 64-68. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gigantes. Manati made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game, while Carolina only scored three points from the stripe. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Pamela Rosado (165-1986) who scored 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international forward India Pagan (185-1999, college: Stony Brook) chipped in 11 points and 10 rebounds. The former international point guard Charity Harris (163-1991, college: Bluefield St.) produced 25 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the hosts. Manati moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Caguas and Hatillo. Carolina at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. Manati will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Carolina will play on the road against Manati and is hoping to win this game.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Moca (8-4) against fifth ranked Monarcas (6-6) on Wednesday night. Visiting Moca was defeated by Monarcas in a tough game in Juana Diaz 53-58. The game was dominated by American players. Center Imani McGee-Stafford (201-1994, college: Texas) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 19 rebounds. Tess Amundsen contributed with 18 points for the winners. Guard Leigha Brown (185-2000, college: Michigan) replied with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for Moca. Newly promoted Monarcas maintains fifth position with 6-6 record. Moca at the other side keeps the second place with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

In the last game of round 14 Hatillo defeated Leonas in a road game 73-69.

Leonas - Hatillo 69-73

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 9th ranked Leonas' (3-8) home loss to eighth ranked Hatillo (5-6) 69-73. Danish swingman Okako Adika (183-1996, college: USC) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Essence Booker (173-1999, college: UNLV) contributed with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American guard Talia von Oelhoffen (180-2002, college: USC, agency: Next Page Sports) replied with 26 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and her fellow American import forward Dariauna Lewis (185-2000, college: Syracuse) added 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Leonas. Four Leonas players scored in double figures. Hatillo moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Caguas and Manati. Newly promoted Leonas keep the ninth position with eight games lost. They share it with Yauco. Hatillo will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Leonas will play against Yauco (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
