Kelley number one in Puerto Rico BSNF for week 16 (by Hoops Agents)

American Forward Shae Kelley (185-F-1991) had an amazing evening in the last week for top-ranked Cangrejeras de Santurce, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for week 16.
The 34-year old player had a double-double of 12 points and 14 rebounds, while her team beat Caguas (#8, 5-8) 75-67. It allowed Cangrejeras to consolidate first place in the Puerto Rican BSNF. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Santurce has a very solid 10-3 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. Kelley turned to be Cangrejeras's top player in her first season with the team. Shae Kelley averages this season 15.7ppg and 8.2rpg.

The second best player in last week's games was young Danish Okako Adika (183-G/F-1996) of Ganaderas de Hatillo. Adika had a very good evening with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course Hatillo cruised to a 83-72 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Yauco (#10, 3-10). This victory allowed Hatillo to move up to 6th position in the standings. Her team lost some distance to top teams. But a 6-6 record is not bad and everything may still change. Adika is well-known at Hatillo and is a proven leader in her second season with the team.

Third on the list of top players last week was Salvadorean Hillary Martinez (172-SF-1997) of league's second-best Explosivos de Moca. Martinez showcased her all-around game by recording 21 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists (!!!) in the last week. Despite Martinez's great performance the Moca lost 68-79 to #3 ranked Isabela. But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Moca needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 9 victories and 5 lost games. Martinez has a great season in Puerto Rico. After 13 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 6.5apg (3rd best).

7. Chelsea Mitchell (175-G-1997) of Manati - 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Oshlynn Brown (185-F) of Santurce - 15 points and 12 rebounds
9. Essence Booker (173-G-1999) of Hatillo - 15 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists
10. Talia von Oelhoffen (180-G-2002) of Leonas - 22 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
