BSNF Round 19 (Regular Season): Carolina defeat Caguas in the closest game of the week

The most exciting game of round 19 in the BSNF took place in Caguas. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 8th ranked Caguas (5-9) to fifth ranked Gigantes (9-7) 73-72 on Monday evening. Carolina shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. It was a great evening for American-Jordanian guard Aisha Sheppard (175-1998, college: Virginia Tech) who led her team to a victory scoring 26 points. helped adding 12 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side responded with 23 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Carolina maintains fifth place with 9-7 record. Caguas lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the eighth position with nine games lost. Carolina are looking forward to face higher ranked Manati (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Caguas will play against Hatillo (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
10th ranked Yauco (3-12) was defeated at home by second ranked Moca (11-5) with the biggest margin this round 75-63. It was a quality performance for who led the winners and scored 15 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. Samantha Fuehring accounted for 14 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Asia Strong (188-2000, college: Syracuse) came up with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for Yauco in the defeat. Moca have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 11-5 record behind leader Santurce. Yauco lost ninth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

In the last game of round 19 Hatillo lost to Isabela on the opponent's court 54-66.

Moca players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was a quality performance for who led the winners and scored 15 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. Rather expected game in Isabela where 6th ranked Hatillo (6-8) was defeated by fourth ranked Pollitas (9-5) 66-54. Isabela outrebounded Hatillo 49-38 including a 27-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for U.S. Virgin Islands center Anisha George (188-1998, college: N.Texas) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. American swingman Quionche Carter (183, college: FGCU) accounted for 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Danish swingman Okako Adika (183-1996, college: USC) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and American guard McKenzie Forbes (183-2000, college: USC, agency: LBM Management) added 19 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Hatillo in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Isabela moved-up to third place. Hatillo at the other side keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. Isabela will play against league's leader Santurce at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hatillo will play against Caguas (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
