Brown number one in Puerto Rico BSNF for week 19 (by Hoops Agents)

American Guard Leigha Brown (185-G-2000) had a great game in the last week for second-ranked Explosivos de Moca, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for week 19.
The 25-year old player was the main contributor (19 points, five rebounds and five assists) to her team's victory, helping them to beat Yauco (#10, 3-12) 75-63. Moca maintains the 2nd position in Puerto Rican BSNF. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Moca will need more victories to improve their 11-5 record. Brown turned to be Moca's top player in her first season with the team. Former University of Michigan star has very solid stats this year. Brown is in league's top in rebounds (7th best: 5.0rpg).

The second best player in last week's games was young American Aisha Sheppard (175-G-1998) of Gigantes de Carolina. Sheppard had a very good evening with 26 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists. It was enough for Gigantes to edge the lower-ranked Caguas (#8, 5-9) 73-72. Carolina's 5th position in the standings has not changed. Her team lost some distance to top teams. But a 9-7 record is not bad and everything may still change. Sheppard is a newcomer at Carolina, but is already one of team's top players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.2ppg (#3). She also registered 4.3 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last week was American forward Asia Taylor (188-F-1991) of Criollas de Caguas (#8). Taylor showcased her all-around game by recording 23 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists in the last week. Despite Taylor's great performance the Caguas lost 72-73 to the higher-ranked Carolina (#5, 9-7). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. Taylor has a very solid season. In 6 games in Puerto Rico she scored 23.0ppg. She also has 7.2rpg and a FGP of 56.4%.

5. Anisha George (188-C-1998) of Isabela - 15 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists
6. Hillary Martinez (172-SF-1997) of Moca - 15 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists
7. Quionche Carter (183-G/F) of Isabela - 14 points and 9 rebounds
8. Samantha Fuehring (191-C-1997) of Moca - 14 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Tayra Melendez (183-G-1993) of Carolina - 7 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists
10. Okako Adika (183-G/F-1996) of Hatillo - 18 points and 10 rebounds

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
