BSNF Round 20 (Regular Season): Santurce edge Isabela by three points

There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in BSNF. Coincidentally all hosts won their games. Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

Third-ranked Pollitas (9-6) made lots of trouble for first ranked Cangrejeras (13-3) in Santurce on Tuesday. Cangrejeras managed to secure only three-point victory 85-82. However their fans expected easier game. It was a great shooting night for Santurce especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was guard Kamaria McDaniel (178-1999, college: Michigan St.) who scored 26 points. Forward Shae Kelley (185-1991, college: Minnesota) chipped in 8 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Cangrejeras' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Swingman Quionche Carter (183, college: FGCU) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists for the guests. Cangrejeras have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 13-3 record. Isabela at the other side dropped to the fourth place with six games lost. Santurce are looking forward to face league's second-placed Moca at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Isabela will play against Monarcas in Juana Diaz and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

American center Imani McGee-Stafford (201-1994, college: Texas) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 21 rebounds. Gabby Gregory contributed with 23 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American guard Talia von Oelhoffen (180-2002, college: USC, agency: Next Page Sports) replied with 33 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 7 assists for Leonas. Monarcas moved-up to sixth place. Leonas lost third consecutive game. Leonas at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keep the ninth position with 11 games lost. Monarcas will play against higher ranked Isabela (#4) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Leonas will play against Caguas (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 20 Carolina was defeated by Manati in a road game 85-80.
The best stats of 20th round was 28 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists by Tayra Melendez of Carolina.

There was no surprise in Manati where 5th ranked Gigantes (9-8) were defeated by third ranked Atenienses (10-6) 85-80. Manati players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The former international point guard Kaela Hilaire (157-1998, college: Stony Brook) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 assists. American guard Chelsea Mitchell (175-1997, college: Morgan St., agency: LBM Management) contributed with 21 points and 4 assists for the winners. International guard Tayra Melendez (183-1993, college: URI) replied with 28 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Teana Muldrow (188-1995, college: WVU) added 16 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Carolina. Five Manati and four Carolina players scored in double figures. Atenienses have an impressive six-game winning streak. Manati maintains third position with 10-6 record having just three points less than leader Santurce. Carolina at the other side keeps the fifth place with eight games lost. Manati will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Carolina will play against Hatillo (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
