CS Valcea 1924 Rm Valcea (Liga Nationala) added to their roster experienced 34-year old USA international guard John Jenkins (193cm-98kg-1991, college: Vanderbilt, agency: Slash Sports). He played last season at Cangrejeros de Santurce in Puerto Rican BSN league. In 18 games just recently he had 12.2ppg, 2.7rpg and 1.5apg. He helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in the league. They also advanced to the league semifinals. The last season he played at Lokomotiv Kuban (VTB United League) in Russian league. Jenkins also spent pre-season at Tofas (BSL) in Turkish league.
In 2012 he was drafted by Atlanta Hawks (NBA) in first round (23rd overall). The former Vanderbilt University standout is in his 14th (!!!) season in pro basketball.
He has been also a member of the USA international program for some years. Jenkins has regularly played for the USA senior team since 2018 and previously for the University National Team back in 2011.
He represented USA at the FIBA World Cup 2023 Americas Qualifiers two years ago. During this event he scored an average of 18.3 points per game and had 1.3 rebounds per game.
Jenkins is quite experienced player. His career allowed him to visit four different continents, while he played in nine different countries. He tasted the life as a pro basketball player in Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America. Jenkins has played professionally in China (Jiangsu Dragons), France (Gravelines Dunkerque), Israel (Hapoel Eilat), Russia, Spain (Burgos, Surne Bilbao and Basquet Girona), Turkey, NBA (Dallas Mavericks, Portland Trail Blazers, NY Knicks, Phoenix Suns and Washington Wizards) and NBA G League (Westchester Knicks, Capital City Go-Go and G League Ignite).
