Romero's double-double lands him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

34-year old CUB-PURn center Ismael Romero (205-C-1991) put on an extraordinary performance in the last week for second-ranked Mets de Guaynabo and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for week 3.
He had a double-double of 25 points and 10 rebounds, while his team edged out Arecibo (#1, 5-2) 93-91. Mets is placed at 2nd position in Puerto Rican league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost two games earlier this season. Guaynabo will need more victories to improve their 3-2 record. In the team's last game Romero had a remarkable 78.6% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Mets, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Romero has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (4th best: 9.6rpg) and averages solid 56.1% FGP.

Second best performed player last week was Montrezl Harrell (203-C-1994) of league's second-best Atleticos de San German. He is American center in his first season at San German. In the last game Harrell recorded an impressive double-double of 24 points and 17 rebounds. Bad luck as Atleticos lost that game 97-104 to Carolina (1-2). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next week. Harrell is one of the most experienced players at San German and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Travis Trice II (183-PG-1993) of Criollos de Caguas (#3). Trice II scored 28 points and passed 8 assists. Despite Trice II's great performance the Criollos lost 102-107 to #4 ranked Santurce. But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Caguas needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams in the Group B. Their record is 3 victories and 2 lost games. Trice II has a great season in Puerto Rico. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 23.0ppg (2nd best) and assists with 8.8apg (best passer).
