Jefferson number one in Puerto Rico BSN for week 24 (by Hoops Agents)

American Forward Davon Jefferson (203-F-1986) had a great game in the last week for Cangrejeros de Santurce, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for week 24.
The 39-year old player had a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds, while his team edged out Carolina (#3, 15-13) 85-84. Cangrejeros is placed at 4th position in Puerto Rican BSN. Santurce is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 14-14 record. In the team's last game Jefferson had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Cangrejeros, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former University of Southern California star has very solid stats this year. Jefferson is in league's top in rebounds (9th best: 7.7rpg) and averages impressive 66.0% FGP.

The second best player in last week's games was young Cuban center Ismael Romero (205-C-1991) of Mets de Guaynabo. Romero had a very good evening with a double-double of 21 points and 13 rebounds. Of course he led Mets to another comfortable win outscoring slightly higher-ranked Aguada (#3, 14-14) 107-82. Despite this victory Guaynabo slide down in the standings to 5th position in Group B. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 13-15 record. Romero is one of the most experienced players at Guaynabo and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.7ppg (#8). He also registered 9.0 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last week was international guard Jezreel De Jesus (185-G-1991) of Leones de Ponce (#4). De Jesus got into 30-points club by scoring 32 points in the last week. He went also for five assists. He was a key player of Leones, leading his team to a 120-101 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Mayaguez (#5, 10-18). The chances of Ponce ranking at the top of Group A, however are very questionable as they have already lost 17 games, recording just twelve victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, De Jesus could help Ponce to bring them higher in the standings. De Jesus has a very solid season. In 25 games in Puerto Rico he scored 17.9ppg. He also has 4.0apg and a FGP of 53.4%.

10. RJ Melendez (201-F-2002) of Arecibo - 23 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists
