The Horsford Group of Companies has again demonstrated its commitment to youth and sports development with a contribution to the National Female Basketball Team . The National Team took part in the Antigua and Barbuda Amateur Basketball Association's 8th Annual Gillian Brazier Female Basketball Invitational on the weekend. The tournament featured teams from Antigua,Dominica and Guyana.
Mr. Wallis Wilkin of the Horsford's Group handed over the sponsorship cheque to Mr. Romel Tobias Coordinator and Coach of the National Female Team.
'This is the 4th consecutive year we have contributed to the National Female team and I can assure my companies continued commitment to the development of female basketball in the federation,' said Mr. Wilkin.
'The young ladies have been and continue to be successful and proud sports ambassadors of our country and the Horsford Group is certainly equally proud to be associated with this dynamic and talented team and female basketball on a whole,' Wilkin Continued
In receiving the cheque Coach Tobias expressed his profound appreciation on behalf of the female National Team and the St.Kitts Amateur Basketball Association for the unwaivering support Horsford's has given to the female team over the years.
The St.Kitts National Female team placed 3rd in the tournament which was still quite commendable despite the fact that it was the teams worst showing at the invitational , having placed 2nd in each of the previous 5 tournaments. The Young ladies returned on Monday and will now go to their respective club teams to prepare for the 3rd SKABA National Female League which is likely to begin in late March
