BBC claim Division 1 title - Jul 3, 2015

BBC is the new champions of Division 1 basketball after they swept their championship series 2-0 over Combined Schools in the KFC National Basketball League this past weekend. The young and entertaining BBC won their first Division 1 championship in thrilling fashion with point guard Rahim Auguste hitting a 2-point field goal as time expired (0.06secs) to sink the hearts of Combined Schools in a 58 - 56 title clinching win. The Vieux Fort based BBC, completed their perfect run in this year's Division 1 League without tasting defeat. They've been outstanding with their style of play and discipline to the sport and thoroughly deserve to be champions of Division 1. Congratulations to BBC on a job well done in becoming Division 1 champions in the KFC National Basketball League. With their Division 1 title, they have gained promotion to Premiere League Basketball. Rahim Auguste for his game winning shot was named the KFC player of the game finishing with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Kurt Raphael added a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds for BBC. Jadson Montoute had a game high 17 points and 8 rebouns in the season ending loss for Combined Schools. Courts Jets forced a game 3 after their loss in game 1. VBCC was unable to sweep the Jets and win game 2 and now the series is tied 1 a piece. . Game 2 ended 55-48 to Jets & KFC Player of the game was Keegan Preville who finished with a double-double of 13 points and 13 rebounds. Durocher Antoine for VBCC had a team high 12 points and 5 rebounds in their loss. Game 3 and the final game of the Premier League season, is scheduled for Saturday July 4th at 7pm. At 6pm, Courts Jets Co Ed will go against a combination of executive members, sponsors and league managers/coaches in a game where some of our female basketballers will get an opportunity to showcase their talent. Gates open from 5pm.
