New Champions Crowned in InterCommercial League Basketball Tournament

PCD's reign in the Inter Commercial Basketball Tournament came crashing at their feet as they were beaten 60 - 56 in the 2018 Finals.Prior to the Final PCD had played unbeaten in the tournament and had made light work of Financial Services in the preliminary round.But on the night of Sunday 11th November it was indeed a different ball game as both teams had their moment of glory in the respective quarters.It was a pulsating ding dong battle which had the very appreciated crowd sapping up and relishing the contest on court, as they remained riveted. The defending champions jumped to an early lead ending the first quarter with a seven point advantage 18 - 11. However with a 24 - 12 run by Financial Services the half ended 35 - 30 in the underdogs favour.The third quarter appeared to be a bit ragged as both teams tried to assert their authority, but despite their efforts they both scored 15 points each as the quarter ended 50 - 45 in Financial Services' favour.Despite PCD mounting a semblance of a fight back, in the final quarter they were only able to score 11 to their opponents 10 points thus relinquishing their hold on the championship. Leading the way for the 2018 champions were Sharmoire Jn. Baptiste, 19 points, 6 rebounds, Rahim Auguste 11 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists, Marlon Samuel 10 points and 10 rebounds and Biscette 8 points and 4 rebounds.Once again the dominant force for PCD, were the Louisson brothers - Andre 19 points, 10 rebounds and Troy 18 points, and 15 rebounds. Ali Quinlan chipped in with 10 points.
