Young scores 16 points in the quarter-final

Sophia Young (186-F-83, college: Baylor) and Turkish Galatasaray steals the victory from Electra Ramat-Hasharon in the first leg of the EuroCup Women quarter-final. A 15:25 in the last quarter gave the guests a great end and the way to start a second game. Petra Ujhelyi led the winners with 24 points and 12 rebounds. Isil Alben produced 18 and Sophia Young collected 16 points and 9 rebounds. Belarus international Tatyana Troina top-scored for the hosts with 16 points and 9 rebounds.
Galatasaray opened the game with 7-0 run to show the class of the Turkish ambitions. Electra Ramat-Hasharon did not fall down and replied with the same run to tie at 7:7. Isil Alben's jump shot closed the first period as the guests had 11:17 advantage. The hosts however came back to the game in the second quarter and produced 22:14 in it. Melvin gave the home team 33:31 deficit at the half.
Sophia Young was the top player in the court in the third quarter scoring some important baskets. Her last jump-shot reduced the host's lead to 54:49. The run that killed the home side came after they had taken a 56:52 lead in the last quarter.Petra Ujhelyi made a pair of free throws to spark the 7-0 spurt that she finished off herself with a lay-up. The game was tied at 69:69 but Sophia Young hit a pair of free throws for a win. Esra Sencebe buried a three-ball for the final 69:74 score.
