Young's team wins first semifinal

Sophia Young (186-F-83, college: Baylor) and Galatasaray beat Beretta-Familia Schio in the first semifinal game of the teams. A 63:55 victory gave the Turkish side 8 points advantage before the second game in Italy. Galatasaray out-scored the Italian guests 9-0 to close the game as Vickie Johnson led the winners with 19 points. Petra Ujhelyi added 15 points and Sophia Young collected 11 points. Deanne Butler ended up with 14 points in the losing clause. Trailing 54:55, Galatasaray made the opponents to fail and to convert on their final six possessions.The second leg is scheduled on 12 March.
