Lyttle Sancho reached Euroleague Quarterfinals with Perfumerias

Sancho Lyttle (193-C-83, college: Houston) and her Perfumerias celebrated a crucial win against Bourges in the Euroleague eighth-final series. The Spanish team prevailed in Salamanca in the third decisive encounter tonight. The hosts needed to overcome a slow start to claim a tough win at the end. Endene Miyem ensured a 4:0 start for Bourges in this one. The visitors stayed in control throughout the first frame and posted a 14:11 lead at the first intermission. Salagnac, Burgrova, Kaltsidou and Endene Miyem provided Bourges with a 10-point advantage midway through the second stanza. Ndognue and Ana Lelas made it 29:15 for the visitors but Le'Coe Willingham and Torrens managed to cut the distance at 10 points heading into the long break. Endene Miyem pulled Bourges ahead by 12 points before Perfumerias replied. The home team went on a 14:0 run to spur in front. Manic and Burgrova stopped the bleeding for Bourges and the French outfit entered the fourth period ahead by one 41:40. The teams traded baskets and Perfumerias were up by just one with over three minutes remaining. Le'Coe Willingham and Silvia Dominguez fired six points in a row and Perfumerias ran away for good in this one. Bourges managed just two points in the reminder of the contest and had to surrender at the end. Sancho Lyttle produced 22 points and 15 boards to lead Avenida. Le'Coe Willingham added 16 points, while Silvia Dominguez finished with 14 points for the winners. Endene Miyem responded with 15 points for Bourges. Ana Lelas had 9 points in the losing effort.
In Game 2 Bourges comfortably saw off the high-flying Perfumerias 69:64 with 3000 fans in the gym. The French side tied the series at 1-1 and will head back to Spain on February 10th. In a tight game throughout it was the hosts who started the game the stronger. Lardy bagged some points of her own in the opening period that allowed them to open up a 20-15 lead after the first ten minutes of basketball action. In the second quarter, Bourges their groove and Ndongue made it 35:28. Miyem closed the half at 38:29 as the teams disappeared in the lockers. The guests however were almost able to get their opponents at arms length as they held onto a slender two point loss with 43:41. Bourges however grabbed 53:46 deficit at the end of thirty minutes. In the final period the lead did not change as the hosts controlled the game. Miyem made it 59:53 and Ndongue scored for 61:54. Lardy later was too good from the free throw line to add some points for the bigger lead. She also scored the last four points of the hosts that called Game 3 in Spain. Both teams will have to head back to Salamanca again next week for the deciding game on February 10th. Styliani Kaltsidou notched 16 points to lead all the winners. Ndongue Emmeline followed her with 13 and Lardy Anael added 12. Sancho Lyttle collected 20 points and 16 rebounds in defeat, De Mondt Anke posted 14 and Willingham Le'Coe added 13.
Perfumerias claimed the first win in the Euroleague eighth-final series against Bourges. Sancho Lyttle scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the hosts in Salamanca. Manic put Bourges ahead at the start of the game. However Perfumerias answered with a 26:4 run to earn a 28:9 lead at the first break. Bourges Basket adjusted their defence in the second quarter limiting the hosts to only 9 points. Bourges got within 12 points at halftime 25:37. Perfumerias regained control in the third stanza. Le'Coe Willingham, Anke De Mondt and Sancho Lyttle boosted the margin at 22 points late in the quarter. Miyem capped the third period with a jumper as Bourges got within 20. The hosts maintained the advantage throughout the final term and celebrated a comfortable win at the end. Anke De Mondt fired 17 points for Avenida. Le'Coe Willingham contributed 13 points and 7 rebounds in the winning effort. Ana Lelas answered with 13 points for Bourges. Paoline Salagnac had 11 points and 8 boards in defeat.
