Guatemala avoids last place in 2010 Centrobasket

2010 Centrobasket, Seventh place: SAINT VINCENT - GUATEMALA 36-96

Guatemala avoided the last place in Mayaguez. They destroyed Saint Vincent 36-96 and finished as No.7 in 2010 Centrobasket Championship. Saint Vincent ended dead last without a single win. Emily Rosales (181-F-94) shined for Guatemala with 18 points and 6 rebounds. Cynthia Rivera (180-F/C-82) also had important role adding 16 points and 5 rebounds. Actually, Rivera was the MVP of this meeting with valuation 23. Blanca Amado (180-G/F-79) (5 rebs) and Irma Loaiza (81) added 13 points each. Saint Vincent did not have any player with double-digits in scoring. Sheldeen Joseph (92) had 9 pts and 6 boards in this defeat.
Everything was clear after the first quarter in this game. Guatemala shined at the both sides of the court scoring 20 pts in offense and limiting their rival to one single point for ten minutes. Saint Vincent drastically improved in the second period netting 17 pts, but they needed a way more (17-19, Q2). Guatemala was 21 points up at the half time and continued in the same rhythm after that. Guatmala finished Q3 with 6-32 and the last one with 12-15 for the final 36-96 victory.
