Trinidad and Tobago got to the winning start of their CBC Championship campaign. They overcame Saint Vincent and Grenadines in the opener. Samantha Wallace connected for 11 points and 7 rebounds in the victory.
Saint Vincent secured a 13:8 lead ten minutes into the game. But Trinidad and Tobago went on a 25:10 run in the second period to ensure a 33:23 halftime lead. The margin grew at 20-point mark at the final intermission. Saint Vincent cut the distance in the fourth frame but could not avoid the defeat. Joelisa Cooper (F) and Rhea Codia provided 9 points each for Trinidad and Tobago. Shavern Weekes (168-G-86) responded with 13 points for Saint Vincent. Vasha Adams (F/C-83) had 10 points in the defeat.
