Windsor Express waive Smart

Akeme Smart

Windsor Express (NBL Canada) waived 26-year old Vincentian ex-international center Akeme Smart (221-104kg-91, college: McCook CC).
Smart managed to play in three leagues in two countries this year. He also played earlier that season for Santfeliuenc in Spanish EBA where in four NBL Canada games he recorded 5.8ppg and 5.3rpg. The other team Smart played shortly was AEC Collblanc (EBA) in Spain. In 5 NBL Canada games he averaged just 2.4ppg and 2.8rpg. Another team he played briefly was Olimpic in Romanian Liga Nationala. In two NBL Canada games he had 7.0ppg, 8.5rpg and 1.0apg.
Smart has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2016.
He also represented Saint Vincent at the CBC Championships in Tortola (British Virgin Islands) two years ago. His stats at that event were 6 games: 1.3ppg, 1.3rpg.
Smart has played also professionally in Spain (Benidorm).
He attended McCook CC until 2013 and it is his fourth season as a professional player.
