Nyika Williams is a newcomer at Fukushima

Fukushima Firebonds (B2 League) strengthened their roster with addition of 31-year old Vincentian ex-international power forward Nyika Williams (203-105kg-87, college: Pacific). He already started the season at Akita Northern Happinets, the newcomer in B League. In two games he recorded 13.5ppg, 4.5rpg and 1.0apg this season. B2 League will be definitely a better match and he can see more playing time. The last season Williams played at Orange Vikings where in 54 B2 League games he averaged 13.8ppg and 7.1rpg. Good season as he was named League Player of the Week.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others his team made it to the Big West Tournament Semifinals in 2010. Williams was also voted AfroBasket.com All-Tunisian League Defensive Player of the Year back in 2014.
He represented Saint Vincent at the CBC Championships in Tortola (British Virgin Islands) three years ago. His stats at that event were 6 games: 9.3ppg, 6.5rpg, 2.5apg, 1.8spg, FGP: 42.2%, FT: 50.0%.
Williams is quite experienced player. Thanks to his pro career he managed to play on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Africa and of course North America). Williams has played previously professionally in Finland (KTP Basket), France, Japan (Saitama Broncos, Kagawa Five Arrows, Dragonflies and Gunma) and Tunisia (JS Kairouan).
He attended University of Pacific until 2011 and it is his eighth season as a professional player.
