Blue Fly, Rising Stars win BCBA Independence Basketball competition

Blue Fly won the junior division and Rising Stars, the senior male category, when the Blue Chip Basketball Academy staged a one-day 3 x 3 and 4 x 4 tournament, last Friday at the Calliaqua hard court. In the final of the junior division, Blue Fly overcame Super Strikers, 8-5. The junior division was mixed with both males and females. And, in the match for the title with the senior males, Rising Stars powered past Thunder 16-7. Prizes awarded to the various winners were donated by Coreas Hazells Inc. The BCBA was established by Vincentian Kishon Bishop, a current national basketballer who is residing in North Carolina, USA. The SVG chapter of the BCBA's operations is under the headship of Kendale Thomas, a former St Vincent and the Grenadines player.
