Bolivia - Colombia 63-87
Colombia earned the first victory at the tournament. They defeated Bolivia to open win count in Group A. The teams were tied at 40 at the big break. Colombia went on a massive 47-23 second half run to rally to the victory. Santiago Velasquez (F-2004) provided 21 points, while Hernan Cortes (189-F-2004) and Alejandro Torrenegra (183-SG-2005) added 12 points each for Colombia. Jose Ledezma (184-SG-2004) responded with 14 points for Bolivia.

Uruguay - Brazil 43-81
Brazil earned the second straight victory in Caracas. They fired past Uruguay to stay undefeated. Brazil secured a 42-17 halftime lead. They followed with a strong 39-26 run in the second half to ease to the victory. Eduardo Bersch (185-G-2005) produced 14 points and 9 rebounds for Brazil. Nahuel Rodriguez (192-SG-2004) answered with 13 points for Uruguay.
