Preliminary Round is over, Americana and Ourinhos will fight for the title

Preliminary Round is over in Quito, Ecuador. American ended it as No.1 with perfect 5-0 record. Another Brazilian squad Ourinhos finished at the second place with 4-1 score, so these two teams will meet in the Big Final. The game will start today at 20h and it will give us an answer who will win the 2012 South American Club Championship title. UTE and Lanus will fight for third place, while Regatas and Malvin will meet each other in the game for position No.5.
Yesterday, Americana blasted Regatas 98-57. The winners had six players with double-digits in scoring. Tassia Carcavalli (179-F-92) led the way with 16 points, while Clarissa Dos Santos (184-C-88) (11 rebs) and Debora Da Costa (165-G-91) added 15 points each. Regatas got 19 points and 12 rebs from Jaleesa Butler.
Also yesterday, Ourinhos had no mercy for Malvin 100-59. Kelly Santos (192-C-79, agency: Josep and Nicolas) shined for the winners with 17 points and 13 rebounds.
In the last game of the day, U.T.E. handed 99-64 loss to Lanus. Gisela Vega (187-C-82, agency: Josep and Nicolas) had double-double of 23 points and 12 rebounds for the home squad.
