Yellow Birds captured SBA Hoofdclasse title. They beat SCVU HH in the decisive fifth game of the championship series to lift the trophy.
SCVU grabbed a 19:13 lead after the first period. But Yellow Birds turned things around in the second quarter. They denied the deficit to eke out a 32:29 halftime advantage. The teams went neck and neck throughout the third term. Yellow Birds eked out a 45:43 lead at the final intermission. The teams were tied at 55 with just over a minute remaining in regulation. However Xaviro Van Ams and Dancell Leter sank four straight free throws late in the game to seal the win for Yellow Birds. Dancell Leter produced 20 points and 15 rebounds, while Xaviro Van Ams (G) contributed 19 points in the victory. Gylan Watamaleo and Sergio Panka replied with 9 points each for SCVU HH.
