Suriname rebounded after their game one loss to the Bahamas to record a 59-26 win against Trinidad and Tobago on Wednesday evening when the Caribbean Basketball Confederation (CBC) female under-16 tournament continued at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall in Georgetown, Guyana. Suriname held Trinidad to single digit scores in each quarter to run away with a game in which they were the superior team in all categories. The interesting stat of the night, however, was the fact that Trinidad out-rebounded Suriname 50-48 but just could not capitalize on their ability to clean the glass in order to translate it into easy points on the fast break or with second chance buckets. Nevertheless, the game was essentially over by the second half with Suriname holding a comfortable 31-13 advantage. Anita Tolud scored a game-high 15 points while Mirelva Marica scored 12 points and Jolaine Nijman 11 points. The highest scorer for Trinidad was Megan Rampersad with seven points.
