Hoofdklasse Round 9 of Regular Season

Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

Sixth defeat of league's leader CLD (0-6) against second ranked De Arend (4-3) 79-67 was the most important game of the last round. Despite that victory De Arend went down to fourth position due to points difference. CLD at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by SCVU. CLD will play next round against league's leader SCVU trying to make it back to the top of the standings. De Arend will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Yellow Birds (5-1) at the home court. Hosts were edged by Ruckers (5-1) 87-85. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Despite that victory Ruckers went down to first position due to points difference, which they share with Yellow Birds and SCVU. Ruckers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Yellow Birds will play against Finabank and hope to get back on the winning track.
An interesting game for SCVU (5-1) which hosted in their close opponent De Schakel (2-4). SCVU had an easy win 74-47. Despite that victory SCVU went down to first position due to points difference, which they share with Yellow Birds and Ruckers. Loser De Schakel dropped to the fifth place with four games lost. SCVU will meet bottom-ranked CLD (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. De Schakel will have a break next round.
