Hoofdklasse Round 15: Yellow Birds are upset by De Schakel

The game between second ranked Yellow Birds (7-3) and fifth ranked De Schakel (6-4) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Yellow Birds were defeated by De Schakel on the road 74-57. De Schakel have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place. Defending champion Yellow Birds dropped to the third position with three games lost. De Schakel are looking forward to face De Arend (#5) in the next round. Yellow Birds will play against CLD and are hoping to win this game.
Third ranked SCVU faced 4th placed De Arend. Guests from (8-3) smashed host De Arend (6-5) 67-47. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of De Arend. SCVU moved-up to second place. De Arend at the other side dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. SCVU will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. De Arend will play against De Schakel (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
CLD can celebrate finally their first win this season after nine consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Finabank (1-10) 76-72 on Thursday. CLD (1-9) left bottom position moving up to sixth place. It was Finabank's fifth loss in a row. They dropped to the bottom position with ten games lost. CLD will meet at home higher ranked Yellow Birds (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Finabank will play against the league's leader Ruckers (#1) and hope to win that game.
