Hoofdklasse Round 17: Ruckers beat Yellow Birds by three after a very close game

This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 3rd placed Yellow Birds (8-4) to first ranked Ruckers (10-2) 66-63 on Thursday evening. Ruckers have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-2 record. Defending champion Yellow Birds keep the third position with four games lost. Ruckers are looking forward to face De Schakel (#4) in the next round. Yellow Birds will play against Finabank and are hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
Third ranked SCVU (9-3) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 4th placed De Schakel (7-5) 48-47 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of De Schakel. SCVU moved-up to second place. De Schakel at the other side keeps the fourth position with five games lost. SCVU will play against CLD (#6) in the next round. De Schakel will play against the league's leader Ruckers and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game in supposed to be also quite interesting. Fifth ranked De Arend (7-6) played at the court of 6th ranked CLD (1-11). De Arend smashed CLD 87-66 on Thursday. De Arend maintains fifth place with 7-6 record. Loser CLD keeps the sixth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Finabank. De Arend will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. CLD will play against the league's second-placed SCVU (#2) and hope to win that game.
