Bjorn Ewijk gets MVP of the Week award for Surinamese Hoofdklasse

Bjorn Ewijk had a great game in the last round for league's leader Ruckers and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 24.
The had the game-high 20 points adding four rebounds for Ruckers in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Finabank (#6, 1-13) with 46-point margin 114-68. It allowed Ruckers to consolidate first place in the Surinamese Hoofdklasse. Ruckers have a solid 14-3 record. In the team's last game Ewijk had a remarkable 77.8% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Ruckers, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Ewijk has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (8th best: 14.8ppg), assists (5th best: 0.6apg) and averages solid 63.2% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was another Ruckers' star - 25-year old international point guard Gylan Watamaleo (178-PG-93). Watamaleo impressed basketball fans with 21 points, 2 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course together with Ewijk he helped Ruckers with another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Finabank (#6, 1-13) 114-68. Of course Ruckers still keep the league's top spot. His team lost just three games this season, while they won 14 matches. Watamaleo is one of the most experienced players at Ruckers and similarly like Bjorn Ewijk has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.7ppg (#5).

The third best performed player last round was another Ruckers' star - Kelvin Monkou. Monkou scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds. He was another key player of Ruckers, helping his team with a 114-68 easy win against the lower-ranked Finabank (#6, 1-13). Ruckers confirms their top position in the standings. Monkou has a very solid season. In 16 games in Surinam he scored 8.9ppg.
