Chayf Elburg
Former international Shooting guard Chayf Elburg (185-SG-98) had a great game in the last round for De Arend, receiving a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 4.
The 21-year old player was the main contributor (30 points, seven rebounds and two assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat De Schakel (#6, 1-2) 63-48. De Arend is placed at 3rd position in Surinamese Hoofdklasse. De Arend is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 2-2 record. In the team's last game Elburg had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. It's his second year at De Arend and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Chayf Elburg has solid league stats. He is league's best scorer averaging so far 19.5ppg. Elburg is in league's top in rebounds (9th best: 4.5rpg), assists (6th best: 1.0apg) and averages impressive 59.1% FGP.
The second best player in last round's games was Hesdy Lens of CLD. Lens had a very good evening with a double-double of 14 points and 16 rebounds. Of course CLD cruised to a 68-60 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Yellow Birds (#7, 1-3). This victory allowed CLD to leave bottom place moving a little bit up to 5th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 1-2 record. Lens is a newcomer at CLD, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.0ppg (#8). He also registered 15.5 boards per game.
Third on the list of top players last round was Dutch forward Jahmal Henar (F) of De Schakel (#6). Henar scored 13 points and grabbed ten rebounds. Despite Henar's great performance De Schakel lost 48-63 to the higher-ranked De Arend (#3, 2-2). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of De Schakel not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 2 games, recording just one victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Henar could try to bring De Schakel's a little bit higher in the standings. Henar has individually a great season in Surinam. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.5rpg (3rd best) and assists with 2.0apg (9th best).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
