Safiero Fraser gets MVP of the Week award for Surinamese Hoofdklasse

Former international Safiero Fraser (193-SF-96) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's leader Ruckers and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 23-year old had a double-double of 13 points and twelve rebounds, while his team outclassed Finabank (#6, 1-3) with 35-point margin 85-50. It allowed Ruckers to consolidate first place in the Surinamese Hoofdklasse. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Ruckers already had a very good start winning all 4 without losing a single one. Fraser turned to be Ruckers' top player in his first season with the team. Fraser has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (6th best: 8.8rpg), assists (3rd best: 3.0apg) and averages solid 65.5% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Anvernee Verwey of CLD. Verwey impressed basketball fans with 22 points and 2 rebounds. Bad luck as CLD lost that game 53-71 to slightly higher-ranked De Schakel (#4, 2-2). CLD is still second from the bottom in the standings. 3 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory CLD managed to get this year. Verwey is a newcomer at CLD and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Darryl Tolud of Finabank (#6). Tolud scored 7 points and grabbed twenty rebounds (!!!). Despite Tolud's great performance Finabank lost 50-85 to the league's current leader Ruckers (#1, 4-0). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Finabank can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-3 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Tolud he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Tolud has individually a great season in Surinam. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 8.7rpg (7th best).
