BC Apollo Amsterdam (DBL) agreed terms with experienced 36-year old Surinamese ex-international power forward Sergio de Randamie (201-109kg-84, college: Houston). It is actually his comeback to Amsterdam as he has played here before. de Randamie has played for the last three seasons at Zorg and Zekerheid Leiden in the DBL. In 19 games he had 3.0ppg, 2.8rpg and 1.5apg last season. de Randamie helped them to make it to the Supercup final. He also played 14 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he recorded 5.3ppg, 3.4rpg and 1.2apg. de Randamie was a member of Surinamese Senior National Team two years ago.
He has spent his entire career in Holland playing for five other teams: Den Helder, ABC Amsterdam, Groningen, Zwolle and Feyenoord.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others de Randamie's team won Dutch Cup in 2019. He was also voted Eurobasket.com All-Dutch Eredivisie Sixth Man of the Year in 2019.
de Randamie is close to retirement age as a player. It's very possible he may end his playing career at Amsterdam.
de Randamie attended University of Houston until 2006 and it will be his 15th (!!!) season as a professional player.
On de Randamie: Incredible rebounder on both Ends of the Floor! Great defensive Player. Good scorer from inside to 3pt Range! Real Teamplayer!.
