Valencia heat up Police - Feb 22, 2016

Police men's basketball team suffered its first loss, 98-85, to Valencia Heat on Saturday night at the Maloney Indoor Complex. In game one of the Big Four semi-finals of the NBFTT national club championships Heat outran the lawmen 32-25 in the final quarter to steal the victory.

In closely contested opening game, Fabrice Fisher had a game high 24pts as Police seized the opening, 21-19. However, at the end of the half Heat took the advantage, 39-37. In the third period. Heat maintained its lead, 66-60, as it was obvious that Police team missed one of its key players, Adrian Joseph. Joseph had limited playing time coming off the bench and didn't played after being substituted during the first half.

Led by Randy Greenidge with 22pts, Heat controlled the last session as Police committed too many unforced errors. Greenidge was ably assisted by Michael Saunders & Keyon Joseph with 18pts apiece while Kevon Noreiga added 11pts, For Police, Dextroy Manswell had 15pts, Wesley Vincent 13pts and Phillip Alexander added 10 in the losing effort.

In the second game of the double header, Detour Shak Attack scored a hard fought 56-52 win over Petro Jazz in a low scoring contest. Shak Attack led throughout the game 14-11, 27-26, 43-41 and 56-52. For the winners, Andrew Ifill had 19pts while Sheldon Christian added 10. Ako Pascall led Jazz with 18pts and Damien Caton had 11.

Action in the Best of Three Series continues tonight (Monday) from 7:00pm at the Pleasantville Indoor Complex.
  



QRC clinch U-20 North Zone title - 1 month ago
Queen's Royal College were crowned champions of the Secondary Schools Basketball League North Zone Under-20 Division after beating South East Port of Spain 51-45 in the final at Jean Pierre Complex on Sunday. South East held a one-point lead at the half-time mark, however QRC rallied to outscore their opponents in the second half to clinch the trophy. St John leads Morvant Laventille to basketball win OSWALD ST John notched 24 points on Friday, to guide Morvant Laventille to a 40-32 victory over West Mucurapo, in a Male Under-17 encounter, at the Jean Pierre Complex, Mucurapo. Action was in the Trinidad and Tobago Schools Basketball Association (TTSBA) North Zone. Rowley in Spanish playoffs! - 2 months ago
Trinidad and Tobago 7' center Kyle Rowley contributed 11pts & 9rebs as Castello clinched a playoff spot with a close 69-68 win over 3rd place CB Prat on April 7 in Round 31 of the Spanish LEB Gold League.
