Hamilton best TT performer! - Jan 15, 2018

Center Johnny Hamilton (7') led the University of Texas, Arlington men's basketball team to one of its finest overall performances of the season on Saturday night at the First National Bank Arena. In a convincing away 97-71 win over Arkanas State in the Sun Belt Conference, Hamilton tallied a game high 8rebs along with 19ts. He also shot 7-of-9 from the field and had 4blks, 2 assists and a steal. Hamilton, who has started every game since transferring from the Virginia Tech, is averaging 12.4pts, 7.8rebs and 2blks in nineteen games played to date. On 24th November 2017, he had a monster game registering a career high 30pts, 15rebs and 5 blocks in a win over Western Carolina.

In another NCAA D1 contest, senior point guard Khadeen Carrington led all players with six assists in a 74-61 victory for 13th ranked Seaton Hall over Georgetown at the Prudential Center on Saturday. With the win Seton Hall improved its record to 15-3 overall and 4-1 in the Big East Conference while extending its home winning streak to 13 games dating back to last season. Carrington also scored nine points with just one turnover. Thus far, Carrington is averaging 14.2pts and 4.1 assists in eighteen games played. Currently, Carrington is seventh in the BIG EAST in scoring with 19.3pts per game during conference play. He scored 29pts against Butler on January 6 and is shooting 48.3 percent (14-or-29) from distance.

On the international pro circuit, 6-5 guard Devaughn Akoon-Purcell scored 13pts and 9 assists as Bakken defeated Randers in the Danish Liagaen League on January 14, 2018. In his previous game on January 6, he had 10pts, 6assists & 5rebs as the 3rd ranked Bakken smashed BMS Skovlunde. He will be in action again on January 25th when Bakken plays Randers.

In Spain, Kyle Rowley tallied 11pts & 6rebs as Castello scored a close 89-88 home win over 7th ranked Araberri 63-78 on January 12. With the win Castello moved up to 7th place with 10-9 record, while Arabberi dropped from 7th to ninth position in the LEB Gold League.

T&T's Chike Augustine was recently honoured by coaches in his final collegiate game with Martin Methodist College (MMC) on the 28th February, 2019.
