Point guard Khadeen Carrington was in ripping form scoring a team high 26pts as Seton Hall won its first NCAA Tournament game in 14 years, with a 94-83 win over NC State, on Thursday at INTRUST Bank Arena. With the victory the 8th ranked Pirates will play No. 1 seed Kansas on Saturday at 7:10pm in the Midwest Region.

Carrington, who has maintained his consistency, had a game winning performance hitting 6-for-14 from the field, 3-for-5 from long distance and 11-for-13 at the free throw line. He was ably assisted by his classmate Desi Rodriguez who had 20 points on 8-of-14 shooting, Ismael Sanogo with a double-double, 10pts & 10rebs, Myles Powell with 19pts & 9rebs, and Angel Delgado (Dominican Republic) who added 13pts, 9rebs and 4asts.

In a closely contest battle, Seaton Hall eventually gained full control after Carrington score a pair of free throws with 7:58 left as the Pirates went ahead by 5pts. Afterwards, they forced a turnover and got a layup from Powell. With another turnover and two defense stops and a Powell layup the lead increased to double-digits, 77-66, with 5:53 left. Rodriguez punctuated the win when Carrington stole the ball with under 30 seconds left and he hit a wide open layup to the delight of the diehard Pirates fans in attendance.

Carrington's 11 free throws are a season high and tied Seton Hall's NCAA Tournament record, also held by Terry Dehere vs. Western Kentucky in 1993. He also added 4rebs, 3assists and 2steals. It was his 27th career 20-point game and ninth of the season, including his fifth in the last six games.

The Hall is also now 38-14 all-time and 11-1 this season when Carrington makes at least two three-pointers.
