Khadeen Carrington secures T&T Top Player Award

With only two Trinidad and Tobago overseas-based players were in action, for week-ending 28 May 2023, 6-4 point guard Khadeen Carrington copped The Top Player Award.

Khadeen Carrington featured in two wins for #2 Hapoel Jerusalem (20-7) against #7 Bnei Hertzeliya (14-13) in Israel-Winner League Quarter-Finals Rounds 3 & 4 on May 24 and 28, respectively. In the first game, Carrington contributed 9pts, 3rebs & 1ast in a 74-69 victory. Next game, he co-shared a game high 26pts & 2rebs as H. Jerusalem scored a comfortable 86-61 win that secured the series, 3-1. They next play close rivals third ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (20-7) the Semi-Finals Rounds game 1 & 2 on May 31 and June 3. Carrington is averaging 13.7ppg, 2.0rpg & 2.1apg: 50.0%2FPG, 36.2%3FPG & 68.3% FT in Israel Winner-League. While in the Euro Basketball Championships League, he is averaging 12.6ppg, 1.6rpg, 2.5apg & 1.1spg: 47.7%2FPG, 34.7%3FPG & 66.3% FT.

Following closely in second is teenage 6-8 forward Malique Lewis who had the best game of his rookie season. Lewis scored a career & game high 24pts, 7rebs, 3asts, 3stls & 1blk but #18th Fuenlabrada (4-30) was still outplayed 102-72 by #11 Obradoiro (14-20) in the Spain La Liga on May 23. Prior to his pro career, Lewis was a starter for CB Fuenlabrada Madrid U19 Championship team. Lewis is currently averaging 4.8ppg & 3.5rpg: 60.8%2FPG & 20.8%3FPG & 68.2%FT.
