Lokomotiv keeps Akoon-Purcell for another season

Lokomotiv Kuban (VTB United League) re-signed 30-year old American (has also Trinidad and Tobago passport) 196cm swingman Devaughn Akoon-Purcell (college: Illinois State) for upcoming season. Akoon-Purcell played there last season. In 27 VTB United League games he averaged 13.4ppg, 3.8rpg, 2.6apg and 1.2spg. He helped them to make it to the VTB United League final. Akoon-Purcell also spent pre-season at Galatasaray (BSL) in Turkish league.
He is a very experienced player. Akoon-Purcell has played also professionally in Denmark (Bakken), France (Le Portel), Israel (Hapoel Tel Aviv), NBA (Denver Nuggets and OKC Thunder), Turkey (Tofas), NBA G League (OKC Blue and Delaware Blue Coats), NBA Summer League (Atlanta Hawks and Indiana Pacers) and The Basketball Tournament (Florida TNT). He won Danish League championship title in 2017 and 2018. Akoon-Purcell was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Danish Ligaen Guard of the Year back in 2017 and 2018.
He graduated from Illinois State in 2016 and it will be his eighth season in pro basketball. Akoon-Purcell played also for Eastern Oklahoma State College for 2 years.
