TTSBA successfully concludes inaugural 3x3 National Competition

The Trinidad and Tobago Schools Basketball Association (TTSBA) proudly wrapped up its inaugural 3x3 national competition, showcasing the incredible talent of young athletes in the region. The final event, held at the Southern Regional Indoor Sporting Arena on Saturday 4 November, featured intense basketball action and determined teams.

The qualifying stage took place on Friday, November 3, 2023, at the Maloney Indoor Sporting Complex, where 12 secondary schools competed in three divisions, setting the stage for an exciting weekend of basketball.

Holy Cross College got the better of Pleasantville Secondary in the Under 20 Final led by Jarvis Caraciolo with 10 points, while Fatima had to get their title in overtime after regulation time ended with the score at 11 points each. It was top Scorer for Fatima College Zachary Julien who finished the game with a two point shot to give Fatima College the U17 title.

The results of the second day's action were as follows:

Under 17 Semi Final 1: St. Mary's 3 - Fatima 11.

Under 17 Semi Final 2: Holy Cross College 3 – Hillview 5.

Under 17 3rd Place Game: Holy Cross College 8 - St. Mary's 4.

Under 20 Semi Final 1: QRC 6 – Pleasantville 7.

Under 20 Semi Final 2: Holy Cross College 14 – Hillview 8.

Under 20 3rd Place Game: Hillview 7 – QRC 9.

Under 20 Final: Pleasantville 9 - Holy Cross College 13.

Under 17 Final Results: 1st Place: Fatima 2nd Place: Hillview 3rd Place: Holy Cross Top Scorer: Zackary Julien with 8 points.

Under 20 Final Results: 1st Place: Holy Cross 2nd Place: Pleasantville 3rd Place: QRC Top Scorer: Jarvis Caraciolo with 10 points.

Allison Bastian, the president of TTSBA, expressed her satisfaction with the successful execution of the first edition of the 3x3 national competition. She stated, "We are thrilled to have launched this competition. While we encountered challenges, we are committed to making it even better and more exciting in the future." The TTSBA looks forward to building on this year's success and continuing to promote basketball excellence among Trinidad and Tobago's youth.
