Julissa Danglade obtains first US Collegiate starting role!

In Illinois, Head Coach Kyle Bent awarded 6-3 center Julissa Danglade her first starting role at US Collegiate level on December 9. Danglade responded with a contribution of 2pts & 4rebs in 16mins as Danville Area Community College (DACC) trounced Olive-Harvey College (0-8) 92-61 in a non-conference game at home.

Her compatriots, 6-3 center Stephanie Stephen and 5-11 power forward Jillisa Briggs, also supported coming off the bench as DACC improved their overall record to 7-4. Stephen added 4pts, 5rebs & 1stl in 15mins, while Briggs chipped in with 2pts, 5rebs & 1stl in 10mins. DACC next play NJCCA D1 team Highland Community College (7-3) on December 16. DACC competes in National Junior Community College Association (NJCCA) Division 2, Region 24.

Over in Memphis, Tennessee, 6-3 center Nairobi Lewis was limited to four minutes off the bench, as LeMoyne-Owen College (6-3) defeated Albany State University (1-10) 58-47 in their Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, NCAA D2, on December 4. Her elder sister 6-2 Afrika Lewis was not rostered to play. LeMonyne-Owen next play on the road against Clark Atlanta University (3-5) on December 18.
