MOMENTUM The Invitational Returns - 2nd Edition

The highly anticipated return of MOMENTUM The Invitational is set to ignite the courts once again, showcasing top-tier talent in the Men's U23 Basketball Tournament. From Saturday, May 18th, 2024, to Sunday, June 16th, 2024, all eyes will be on the Maloney Indoor Sport Arena (MISA) as the battle for honours unfolds.

Eight prominent teams are gearing up to compete in the 2024 edition, promising electrifying matchups and fierce competition. Among the contenders are familiar faces like the Maloney Pacers Basketball Club and Youth Development Programme, Spartans TT, Matthew Pierre Basketball Academy, and New Chapter Global Sport Academy, along with rising challengers such as Royalty Basketball Academy, Point Fortin Veterans Basketball Academy, Arouca New Age Lions and Coach KG Elite.

The tournament, tailored exclusively for young men aged 23 years and under, remains steadfast in its mission to elevate the sport by providing a platform for emerging talents to shine. With each game, players will have the opportunity to showcase their skills, compete at the highest level, and gain invaluable experience in a competitive environment.

Defending champions, the Matthew Pierre Basketball Academy, are poised to defend their title after their triumphant victory in the inaugural competition. However, they'll face stiff competition from contenders like the Maloney Pacers, fresh off their Destiny Invitational Arima League (DIAL) Championship win, Spartans TT - runners up in the DIAL, and New Chapter, eager to avenge their runner-up finish in the previous edition of MOMENTUM.

The tournament format will feature an exhilarating two-pool round-robin group stage, followed by a thrilling single-elimination medal round. Teams will battle it out over five weekends, with games scheduled on both Saturdays and Sundays. The semi-final matchups will be determined by each team's finishing position in the pool (A I v B II; and B I v A II), setting the stage for intense showdowns as they vie for a spot in the coveted Final.

As anticipation builds and the countdown begins, basketball fans can expect nothing short of an unforgettable spectacle at MOMENTUM The Invitational.
