Malique Lewis (19yrs) has withdrawn from the 2024 NBA Draft. The deadline for early entrants such as non-college players, including international prospects, to withdraw from the 2024 NBA Draft passed last Sunday at 5:00 pm Eastern time. The NCAA has an earlier withdrawal deadline in late May.

The 6-8 forward is arguably one of the best NBA prospects to emerge from his native country of Trinidad and Tobago. His pre NBA Draft workouts included Dallas Mavericks and New York Knicks.

According to several sources, including NBA scout Rafael Barlowe, Lewis decision came as a surprise as he projected him to be a late second round pick. Barlowe is the Director of Scouting at NBA Big Board and covers the NBA cover the NBA for Basketball Insiders, The Analyst, and Forbes.

On June 17, Barlowe reported on his NBA Big Board that Lewis was one of his favorite sleepers in this draft class and had him at No. 53 in last week's mock draft. As the youngest non-Ignite player in the G League, he averaged 9.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks while shooting 51% from the floor and 38% from deep over 34 games this season. Barlowe stated that Lewis is a bouncy, athletic combo forward capable of defending both 3s and 4s. He provides complementary scoring as a shooter, cutter, and transition finisher. The 6’8” forward from Trinidad and Tobago gained experience in Spain's ACB with Fuenlabrada in 2022-23 and was a pleasant surprise in the G-League with the Mexico City Capitanes this season.

Barlowe concluded that he expects Lewis to be one of the hottest names in the 2025 draft.
