Kadeem Jack is back as T&T Top Player

Here is the review of Trinidad and Tobago overseas-based players who were active for week-ending 9 March 2025.

The Top Player Award goes to 6-9 forward Kadeem Jack who had three outstanding performances. However, his team North Port Batang Pier still went under to Ginebra Kings in the Best of Five Semi-Finals of the Philippines-PBA. On March 2, Jack scored a game high 32pts, 3reb, 4ast, 2stl & 1blk in a 127-100 loss. Two days later, Jack led with another game high double-double 39pts & 15reb along with 5ast in a 108-103 victory. On March 7, Jack top scored with 31pts, 6reb, 3ast, 1stl & 1blk in a losing effort, 126-99. Jack is averaging 31.5ppg, 10.7rpg, 2.0apg, 1.2bpg, 1.8spg: 58.0%2FPG, 31.3%3FPG & 69.4% FT.

Second is 6-4 shooting guard Khadeen Carrington with two victories for Hapoel Jerusalem in the Israel-Winner League. In the first game on March 2, Carrington contributed 15pts, 3reb, 3ast & 1stl in a 94-79 result over the visiting 6th ranked Bnei Hertzeliya (10-8). Four days later, he scored 17pts, 3reb, 4ast & 1stl in as 3rd ranked Jerusalem (14-5) defeated close rivals 4th ranked M.Ramat Gan (11-8) 82-75. H. Jerusalem next play #14 Hapoel Haifa (2-17) on March 16. In the Israel-Winner League, Carrington is averaging 14.2ppg, 3.0rpg & 2.6apg: 41.1%2FPG, 31.6%3FPG & 91.2% FT. Third is 6-5 swingman Devaughn Akoon-Purcell with a game high 23pts, 3reb, 2ast, 1stl & 2blk guiding 3rd ranked UNICS (29-7) to a 89-71 victory over 7th ranked Parma-Pari (14-21) in Russia VTB United League on March 8. UNICS will have a break next round. Akoon-Purchell is averaging 15.9ppg, 3.2rpg, 2.9apg & 1.1spg: 49.1%2FPG, 31.5%3FPG & 88.8% FT.

Fourth is 7-0 center Johnny Hamilton with 11pts, 8reb & 1blk as sixteenth ranked Lleida (7-15) won at home against higher ranked #11 Zaragoza (10-12) 97-91 in Spain - Liga Endesa on March 9. Lleida next play at #17 Granada (6-17) on March 16. Hamilton is averaging 5.6ppg & 3.1rpg: 62.5%2FPG, 0.0%3FPG & 90.0% FT.

Fifth is Canadian-born 6-3 guard Cody John with 13pts, 6reb, 2ast & 1stl as 7th ranked Manchester United (6-13) surprised 4th placed Newcastle Eagles (10-10) 86-79 in the UK Super League Basketball on March 2. Manchester will play against #9 Caledonia Gladiators (3-16) on March 14. John is averaging 7.6ppg & 1.0rpg: 46.8%2FPG, 39.5%3FPG & 80.0%FT.
