Salazar’s season-high 57 points lifts BBA past Togetherness- August 3, 2025

Adam Salazar delivered a sensational performance, scoring a career- and league-high 57 points to lead Basic Basketball Academy (BBA) to a 92–82 win over Togetherness basketball team. The game, held on August 2 at the Woodbrook Youth Center, marked the final fixture for both teams in the Kelvin Roberts North Zone Basketball Commission First Division.
With the victory, BBA wrapped up the season in eighth place with a 3–6 record, while Togetherness finished just below them at 1–8. The opening quarter was tightly contested, with both teams trading baskets in a fast-paced exchange. However, BBA managed to edge ahead, 18–17, by the end of the first. In the second period, BBA gradually gained momentum and extended their lead to 46–39 at halftime. Togetherness struggled to mount a comeback in the second half, despite a season-high 46 points from standout Tyler Hyland. BBA maintained control and entered the final quarter with a 67–59 advantage, ultimately holding off any rally attempts. In addition to Salazar’s explosive scoring, BBA received solid support from Caleb Fergusson, who chipped in with 13 points. For Togetherness, Timothy Belgrave added 27 points in a determined, though unsuccessful, effort. Other Result: TTDF dominates NFM in Over-45 Showdown In the opening game of the evening's double-header, the Trinidad and Tobago Defense Force (TTDF) cruised to a dominant 79–53 victory over National Flour Mills Veterans (NFM) in an Over-45 division clash. The win keeps TTDF unbeaten at the top of the standings with a 5–0 record, while NFM remains winless at 0–3, sitting at the bottom of the table. Led by Nate Toney’s game-high 23 points, TTDF controlled the matchup from start to finish. They steadily widened their lead across each quarter, holding advantages of 24–15, 42–25, and 59–36 before sealing the comfortable win. Lincoln Charles supported the TTDF effort with 19 points, while Kevin Williams and Kevin Hutchinson added 12 and 11 points respectively. For NFM, Roger Springer led the scoring with 12 points, and Kenroy Dopwell contributed 10 in a losing effort. |
